Welcome to Plumstead Christian School.
We are pleased to offer you a convenient, online method to apply for a Variable Tuition Determination through FACTS.
Variable Tuition Program
Dear PCS Family,
As we look to the 2021-2022 academic year, our school
remains committed to providing our families with a safe, caring, and academically
excellent Christian education where your child can grow in his or her faith,
virtue, and knowledge. We also understand that
the cost of a top-ranked private school education may still pose a financial
barrier to some of our families, and we are committed to making the Plumstead
Christian School experience as affordable as possible. Our Variable Tuition
Program helps us to accomplish this.
If you
choose to apply to our Variable Tuition Program, the school will match your
unique financial profile to a Variable Tuition Rate. For approximately forty
percent of our families this will translate to a reduced tuition cost somewhere between
50-100% of the maximum tuition level.
Last year, we received
98 Variable Tuition applications representing a total of 178 students. Families
with two or more children who qualified for a reduced tuition had an average adjusted
gross income of $110,410. The average tuition reduction per family was $4,883. Families with one child at the school who
qualified for a reduced tuition had an average adjusted gross income of $61,280
and an average family award of $2,688.
Variable
Tuition Program grants to qualifying families is not the whole story. In 2017-2018, the average family benefited
from the fact that our top tuition rate averaged $2,600 less than the actual
cost to educate each student at PCS. The remaining funds to educate your child
come from other revenue streams and from generous donors to our growing tuition
assistance endowment, our committed businesses who engage in Pennsylvania’s
Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, and every gift to our annual
fund, The Fund for Plumstead.
I want to thank you again for your
partnership with us as we strive to provide a caring environment where students
are taught to think biblically, serve effectively, and lead Christ-centered
lives. We applaud you for the investment you make in your children, and we look forward to serving
your family again during the 2020-2021 academic year.
In His Service,
Mark W. Miquel, Sr.
Director of Finance
