Detroit Country Day School

                                                        FACTS for Guided Tuition

We are pleased to offer you a convenient, online method to apply for Guided Tuition through FACTS for Detroit Country Day School.  Families of students Pre-K through 12th grade are eligible to apply for need-based Guided Tuition. Applications will be available as of February 1st, 2020 for the 2020-2021 school year.  Students at all levels may apply for financial assistance, although aid will be granted in descending order with our Middle and Upper School students receiving priority consideration. Lower School applicants may be considered if Guided Tuition is still available.

Simple Steps to Apply for Financial Aid Online:

  1. If you are a New FACTS user, please select “Create a Username & Password” to begin. If you have an existing FACTS account, select “Sign In”.
  2. Then, click on the Start Application button.
  3. Select the appropriate school year.
  4. Complete the steps as prompted.

IMPORTANT!!!  In order to be considered for a preliminary early award decision, you MUST have your application and your 2018 1040 Federal Tax Return along with all supporting business schedules, attachments and 2019 W-2s submitted to FACTS no later than March 15, 2020 to allow for the two-week processing time.  Detroit Country Day School will send preliminary award notifications to qualified families beginning March 15, 2020.  Applicants are encouraged to submit their Guided Tuition forms early to be in the first round of decisions. Guided Tuition funds are limited.

NOTE:  All applicants will be required to submit their 2019 1040 Federal Tax Return along with all supporting business schedules and attachments to FACTS once they are completed in order for current income to be verified.  This may result in a change in your preliminary award.

Current Guided Tuition recipients student account balances must be in good financial standing to be eligible for a 20-21 Guided Tuition award.

Your preliminary early award is contingent on receiving your 2019 tax documents.  If they are not submitted to FACTS by April 15, 2020, any preliminary award granted may be rescinded.  If you have extenuating circumstances, please contact our CFO, Patricia Brand at pbrand@dcds.edu.

In cases of divorce or separation, both parents MUST apply for financial aid and supply financial documents.  If you occupy separate households, each parent is required to complete a separate application.

DCDS requires your 2019 IRS form  1040 to be uploaded. Please upload by selecting the upload button. The FACTS system does not provide a specific prompt for the 2019 form 1040. The generic upload function will manage that information
